Peace Out(doors)

Gathering space at Peace Out(doors)
Map to our meeting space on City Island

Peace Out(doors) offers an opportunity to reflect and re-center as the week begins.

We gather on City Island. Participants bring camp chairs, and we sit in a circle around a small table furnished with a snack, a Bible, a vessel of water, and a symbol for the day. We begin our time with a sacred reading, move to a time of centering, share a couple more sacred readings, and spend a few minutes in silence and prayer. Then we enjoy a few moments of fellowship before concluding our time together.

See our most recent Peace Out(doors) program for an example.

Peace Out(doors) helps remind us of our connection to the divine, the earth, and one another. It is meant to be life-giving, offering space for spiritual practice and mindfulness in community.

Peace Out(doors) is kid-friendly, pet-friendly, and informal. Following our gathering, you can enjoy time walking around the island, playing mini golf, visiting the playground, or socializing at a nearby restaurant.

If you’d like to join us, please bring a camp chair (or similar). Our gathering is on Sunday afternoons at 5:00 on City Island, in the grove of trees across from the train depot (see map for an overhead view). Park in the north lot (free on Sundays), head toward the ballpark, and turn left to reach our gathering spot. (Here’s a video showing how to get there.)

Come give Peace Out(doors) a try. We’d love to have you join us!
